1) Based on your experience with WordPress, what are your impressions with working with WordPress—the pros and cons? It started as a blogging platform but has evolved—should it still be relegated for small blogs, or do you see enterprise use?
I believe WordPress is a great tool and CMS. I use it almost everyday in my personal and work life. The way that WordPress can be customized yet to give different experiences is great and the ease of use is amazing. WordPress can be used to create a variety of websites that look nothing alike. The only thing different is the platform that allows content to be updated.
One of the cons about WordPress is sometimes the security of websites that use the platform. As an open source program, there are many security flaws that have been exploited.
Our newsroom is just one of many Major media companies that uses WordPress so it is no longer relegated to small blogs and that’s for the better. WordPress makes sure all of NBC Bay Area articles have the same template and look good on desktop and mobile. It also lets our newsroom update breaking news on the fly.
